Children's Privacy Policy

Party Animal, LLC ("Party Animal," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of children online. This Children's Privacy Policy supplements our general Privacy Policy and describes our practices regarding children under 13 years of age in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and its implementing regulations. Party Animal, LLC is based in Westlake, Ohio, USA.

1. Our Approach: No Collection from Children Under 13

Our Site and Services are not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We employ an age-verification gate during account registration that requires users to provide their date of birth. Users who indicate they are under 13 are immediately blocked from creating an account and are shown a message directing them to involve a parent or guardian.

We do not:

• Create accounts for users under 13.
• Collect, store, or process personal information from users who identify as under 13.
• Store the date of birth entered during age verification if the user is under 13 — the verification is performed client-side, and no data is transmitted to our servers when access is denied.

2. Age Verification Process

Our age-verification process works as follows:

1. Date of Birth Entry: During account registration, users are required to select their month, day, and year of birth.
2. Client-Side Age Calculation: The user's age is calculated locally in the web browser. If the calculated age is under 13, the registration process is halted immediately.
3. Access Denied for Under 13: Users under 13 see the message: "Go and get your parents! Sorry! You aren't old enough to create your own account." No personal information is collected or transmitted.
4. Access Granted for 13 and Older: Users who are 13 or older proceed to account creation. Their date of birth is not retained after age verification.

3. Information We Collect from Users Ages 13–17

Users between 13 and 17 years of age ("teen users") may create accounts and use the Services. For teen users, we collect the same information as described in our general Privacy Policy:

• Email address and password (for account creation and authentication).
• Username (for display purposes).
• Avatar customization preferences and player names.
• Favorite sports teams (optional, up to 3).
• Contest entries and share tracking data.
• Marketing email consent, if the teen user chooses to give it — whether they opted in, when, and where. See Section 4 below.

We do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary to provide the Services. We do not require teen users to disclose more information than is necessary to participate in any activity.

4. How We Use Teen User Information

Information from teen users is used solely for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain their account.
• To enable avatar creation, saving, and sharing.
• To administer contest entries and award prizes.
• To send transactional emails (contest confirmations and share bonus notifications only).
• To send marketing emails about new releases, products, and promotions — only to teen users who have expressly opted in, and only until they opt out.

4.1 Marketing Emails and Teen Users

Teen users may choose to receive marketing emails from us. We want to be specific about how that works, because we are asking people under 18:

• It is always optional. The box is never pre-checked. Opting in is never required to create an account, build an avatar, enter a contest, or win a prize. Declining costs a teen user nothing except one optional bonus contest entry, and every other way of earning entries remains open to them.
• It is one list, not a profile. Everyone who opts in receives the same emails. We do not tailor marketing to a teen user based on their age, avatar, favorite teams, gameplay, or browsing.
• It is easy to undo. A teen user can withdraw consent at any time from their Profile page or from the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, and opting out never takes away contest entries they have already earned.
• We encourage parental involvement. We recommend that teen users talk to a parent or guardian before signing up for marketing emails. A parent or guardian may contact us at the address below to withdraw consent on their teen's behalf, and we will honor that request.

We do not use teen user information for behavioral advertising or profiling purposes, and we do not sell, rent, or trade teen user information to third parties. Marketing emails are sent by us, to people who asked for them, and to no one else.

5. Public Visibility for Teen Users

When a teen user shares their avatar, the following information becomes publicly visible to anyone with the shared link:

• The user's avatar (visual customization).
• The player name assigned to the avatar (if set).
• The user's username (displayed as creator attribution).

Email addresses are never publicly visible. Users control when and whether to share their avatar link.

6. Third-Party Services

We share limited information with third-party service providers solely as necessary to operate the Services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect user data:

• Supabase — Secure storage of account data and authentication.
• Resend — Delivery of transactional emails only.
• Vercel — Website hosting.

We do not use advertising networks or social media tracking on our Site. For aggregate site analytics we use Umami, an open-source tool we self-host on our own infrastructure; it records page views and country-level geography without cookies or any data that could identify a visitor. For accounts known to belong to users under 13, we additionally suppress the analytics tracker entirely so no analytics events are sent for those visits.

7. Parental Rights

Although we do not collect personal information from children under 13, we respect the rights of parents and guardians. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided personal information to us (for example, by misrepresenting their age), please contact us immediately. We will:

• Promptly investigate the matter.
• Delete any personal information collected from the child.
• Terminate the child's account.

For teen users (ages 13–17), parents and guardians may:

• Request to review the personal information we have collected from their teen by contacting us.
• Request deletion of their teen's account and all associated data.
• Request that we cease further collection or use of their teen's information.

To make any such request, please contact us at the address below with sufficient information to verify your identity and your relationship to the child.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect all user data, including data from teen users:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
• Hashed passwords — we never store passwords in plaintext.
• Row-Level Security ensuring users can only access their own data.
• Cascading deletion — when an account is deleted, all associated data (profile, avatars, contest entries) is permanently removed.

9. Data Retention

We retain user data only for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Upon account deletion, all data is permanently deleted through cascading database operations. We do not maintain archived copies of deleted user data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Children's Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and provide notice through the Site. We encourage parents and guardians to review this page periodically.
